Thank Goodness it's the Thursday before a holiday!
I can't wait to leave early and start enjoying my long weekend.
Someone sent this to me this morning and although I hate to admit it, I was thinking the same thing...
I can't believe it's almost the 4th of July already.
It seems like New Year's Day was just a few weeks ago.
Has blogging boxed me into a time warp that only every now and then I come in order to stretch, inhale and slip right back into?

OK, so I've been lurking around Vox for quite some time now. I think it's time I get back in the saddle so be sure to come back and check up on me from time to time.
I was thinking about a comment I made on Serenity Life's blog and I wanted to share it here. I was a wonderful experience I had attending a Maxwell concert. She said she has never gone to see Maxwell in concert (I'm still in disbelief) and this was my response:
You've never seen Maxwell live in concert!?! WTH!!?? Girl you are missing a truly amazing experience. Maxwell is absolutely amazing in concert. I had the pleasure of attending a concert in a semi-intimate venue at the Wang Theater in Boston. It seats over 3,600 people, but trust me, I was close enough to feel like he was in my living room.
He came out and spoke to the audience in that deep resonating voice. Then he sang as we swayed to the music. His band was awesome. He told the audience he used to live in Boston very briefly, but that we were some mean people and always asked him if he was really black, when was he going to cut his hair and so on. He said he was glad he moved, but it was all love. LOL
He performed over 2 hours and when he finished his set the band played on as people started filing out. For some reason I sat with my friends in a bit of a trance and thank Goodness I did, because he came back out for an encore performance. (I've learned since NEVER to leave until the band is finished!!)
He came out in a jean suit with his hair pulled back (before the cut of course) and he sang a few songs in Spanish. I really can't tell you what happened after that because I was so awed over the fact that he was singing in Spanish with that beautiful voice that when I snapped out of it, we were pulling up to my house.
Sorry for the looooong post, but I had to give you a little taste of what you were missing. You've GOT to go see him in concert. That's an order Missy!

I had a great time that night and I want to thank Jennifer for jogging my memory. That reminds me that I need to go out and see a concert. The last artist I saw live was Ginuwine, and that was many moons ago. I think I'm going to have to pay Ticketmaster a visit.

Out of the mouths of babes...
Tavis Smiley spoke with Ellen Page of Juno on his show yesterday. She spoke about the Spears sisters and their popularity and why she is more grounded: "I was really lucky, my parents were never wierdos."

At this time of year many people make resolutions that they may or may not keep. I stopped making resolutions back in 1996 - they don't work for me. I now make predictions for myself.
For the year 2008 I predict that I will be upgrading... I'll be upgrading my relationships... from my all angles... friendships, personal relationships, family & co-worker relationships, the whole 9.
I'll upgrade my vehicle, my job, my finances, etc. etc. I think I'm going to do a complete overhaul.
I started with my blog page. It needed an upgrade. LOL
I will also predict that I will compliment more. I'm normally a happy-go-lucky easy vibe'n type person but I've been pretty evil in '07. I had a lot of obstacles come my way and I was tired and cranky and sick of maxing out my brain trying to solve my problems as well as everyone else's. But I'm bringing it back to the days where I would smile & say hello to everyone, especially to the people who look like they don't want to speak - those are the ones who need a little cheer in their lives.
So, the upcoming year I wish everyone peace of mind. It's underrated and people sometimes assume it's easy to achieve when it is not. I don't predict peace of mind for myself for 2008 because I found it just in the nick of time this year.
